Para Educator

Para Educator / Para Professional – Full Time | Duvall, WA | 2025-2026 School Year | Middle School

Ampersand Therapy is seeking dedicated para educators to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year in Duvall, Washington. Whether you’re an experienced para educator or just beginning your school therapy journey, we’d love to hear from you!

Job Highlights:

  • Location: Duvall, WA
  • Position: Para-educator
  • Schedule: Full time
  • Setting: In-person, Middle School - 1:1 and/or classroom support
  • Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with personal care and/or medical needs (e.g., hygiene, lifting, toileting, feeding, etc.).
  • Assist with student transitions, transportation, supervision (lunch, recess, bus, assemblies), and classroom coverage when the teacher is absent.
  • Provide support for students with significant behavioral or emotional needs, including implementing behavior management strategies.
  • Assist with instruction (small/large groups, vocational programs), IEP preparation, assessments, and monitoring due process timelines under teacher direction.
  • Prepare and organize instructional materials, maintain student records/files, and use technology for data entry, reports, and assistive devices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support students, teachers, and educational planning.

Qualifications:

  • Right Response or CPI training a plus
  • Experience working with children
  • Must currently have a secondary school (high school) diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Must fulfill one of the three following requirements:

1) Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education; or 2) Obtain an associate (or higher) degree; or
3) Pass a state-approved para-educator assessment, such as the ETS ParaPro test with a score of 455 or higher
