About the Role
Hello, Occupational Therapists!Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist for a caseload within Hoover City Schools District. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in student success by conducting evaluations, supporting IEP development, and collaborating with school teams. This is a great fit for both experienced school-based OTs and those transitioning into schools.

What You’ll Do
Supports the school system’s vision, mission, and goals.
Assists in identifying and referring students with fine motor impairments.
Conducts occupational therapy assessments and interprets evaluation results.
Develops intervention plans and participates in IEP development and implementation.
Collaborates with teachers and staff to support student achievement of IEP goals.
Provides direct occupational therapy services in classroom, group, or individual settings.
Supports the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment for students.
Maintains accurate student records and complies with special education regulations.
Communicates regularly with parents regarding student progress and support strategies.
Adheres to school policies and performs additional duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
Active (or eligible) Alabama State OT license
National Board Certification in Occupational therapy
Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive devices for students with special needs
Strong communication and collaboration skills
School-based experience preferred, not required
