About the Role
Hello, School Nurses!Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time School Nurse in Gainesville, GA. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in assessment, screening, planning, intervention, evaluation, counseling, management and/or referrals concerning the health and medical care needs of students for the purpose of minimizing absences due to illness, maximizing educational opportunities and creating a healthy school climate.

What You’ll Do
Collaborate with healthcare providers, families, school staff, and community agencies to support student health and continuity of care
Support and maintain a comprehensive school health program
Conduct health screenings, immunization programs, and monitor compliance with health regulations
Assess and provide care for students who are ill or injured, including first aid and nursing interventions
Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) to support student needs
Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state, federal, and district policies
Participate as a healthcare professional on school support teams, including IEP, Section 504, and crisis teams
Provide health education, guidance, and training to students, families, and school staff
Communicate with parents, physicians, and school personnel regarding student health concerns and care plans
Promote student wellness, safety, and rehabilitation through proactive nursing care and intervention
What We’re Looking For
Valid State of Georgia licensure as a registered nurse
Nationally recognized Health Care Providers CPR AED certification
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Pediatric nursing experience preferred, not required
