About the Role

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher to support elementary students with autism in Windsor, CO. In this role, you’ll provide individualized instruction, implement behavior and academic supports, develop IEPs, and create a structured, supportive classroom environment where students can thrive.

This position is ideal for educators who are passionate about working with elementary-aged students with autism and enjoy helping students build communication, academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and life skills in a highly supportive setting. You’ll work alongside a collaborative district team and a therapist-run company that values mentorship and support.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student strengths and needs
  • Provide individualized and small-group instruction for elementary students with autism
  • Implement behavior supports, visual schedules, sensory strategies, and structured routines
  • Create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
  • Write progress reports and maintain compliant documentation
  • Adapt curriculum, communication supports, and instructional strategies to maximize student success
  • Support students in building independence, communication, emotional regulation, and functional life skills

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license with Special Education endorsement
  • Experience working with students with autism preferred
  • Strong classroom management, flexibility, and collaboration skills
  • Passion for supporting elementary students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
  • School-based experience preferred, but not required
