About the Role

Ampersand Therapy is hiring an Affective Needs (AN) Teacher to support students in Brighton, CO. In this role, you’ll provide individualized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students in a structured educational setting. You’ll help create a safe, supportive classroom environment while partnering with school teams to support student growth and success.

This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact with students who benefit from additional emotional and behavioral support while working alongside a collaborative district team and a supportive, therapist-run company.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student behavioral, emotional, and academic needs
  • Provide specialized instruction and behavioral support in an Affective Needs setting
  • Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes emotional regulation and learning
  • Implement behavior supports and collaborate on intervention strategies
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, school psychologists, social workers, and families
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and supports accordingly
  • Write progress reports and maintain compliant documentation
  • Support students in building coping, self-regulation, communication, and social-emotional skills

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license with Special Education endorsement
  • Experience supporting students with behavioral, emotional, or affective needs preferred
  • Strong classroom management, de-escalation, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
  • School-based experience preferred, but not required
