About the Role

Hello, Physical Therapist Assistants! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a school-based setting in Portage, Michigan. In this role, you’ll support students in accessing their educational environment by addressing mobility, positioning, and functional movement needs. You’ll collaborate closely with school teams to help students participate safely and successfully in the classroom and school community.

What You’ll Do

• Provide school-based physical therapy treatment under supervision of Physical Therapist
• Support students with mobility, positioning, and access to school environments
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
• Recommend adaptive equipment, positioning supports, and environmental modifications
• Maintain timely documentation, progress notes, and compliance records

What We’re Looking For

• Active Michigan Physical Therapy Assistant license (or eligibility to obtain)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• School-based experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to work independently
