Up to $27-30/hour | Winder, GA | Full-Time Hours | 2026-2027 School Year |  Full-time position providing one-on-one skilled nursing care to a student with complex medical needs in a special education classroom while supporting their health, safety, and access to learning through collaboration with the educational team.

About the Role

Hello, Licensed Practical Nurses! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time 1:1 School LPN in Winder, GA. In this role, you'll play a critical part in providing individualized nursing care to a student with complex medical needs in a special education classroom. You will ensure the student's health, safety, and access to education by implementing individualized healthcare plans, administering medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring the student's medical status, responding to medical emergencies, and maintaining accurate health documentation. Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families, you will support the student's participation in classroom activities while fostering independence, well-being, and a safe learning environment.


Position Details:
  • Caseload within Barrow County School System
  • Full Time - Starting July 2026
  • 1.0 FTE, M-F

What You’ll Do
  • Provide one-on-one skilled nursing care to a student in a special education classroom.
  • Implement physician orders and individualized healthcare plans developed by the supervising RN
  • Administer medications, treatments, and skilled nursing interventions in accordance with state regulations.
  • Monitor the student's health status and respond appropriately to medical needs and emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, school staff, families, and the supervising RN to support student success.
  • Assist the student in safely participating in classroom and school activities.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
  • Valid State of Georgia licensure as a LPN
  • Nationally recognized Health Care Providers CPR AED certification 
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Pediatric nursing experience preferred, not required
