In this role, you’ll play a critical part in student success by conducting evaluations, supporting IEP development, and collaborating with school teams. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in student success by conducting evaluations, supporting IEP development, and collaborating with school teams. - Assists in identifying and referring students with fine motor impairments.
- Conducts occupational therapy assessments and interprets evaluation results.
- Develops intervention plans and participates in IEP development and implementation.
- Collaborates with teachers and staff to support student achievement of IEP goals.
- Provides direct occupational therapy services in classroom, group, or individual settings.
- Supports the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment for students.
- Maintains accurate student records and complies with special education regulations.
- Communicates regularly with parents regarding student progress and support strategies.
- Adheres to school policies and performs additional duties as assigned.
- Active (or eligible) Alabama State OT license
- National Board Certification in Occupational therapy
- Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
- Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive devices for students with special needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- School-based experience preferred, not required
